As the society Sledilnik (Tracker) emphasizes, the web portal correctly collects as well as publishes in a timely and transparent manner the most crucial data to prepare the public health systems for an effective response. Only the data published in this way can serve as the basis for understanding the developments, for active self-protective behaviour, and for respecting the necessity of measures to be introduced. Initiated in March 2020 by Luka Renko, the project now engages between twenty and forty-five volunteers. It grows through mass volunteer collaboration (crowdsourcing), in which everyone can contribute to the best of their abilities.
The "COVID-19 Sledilnik" has received the Grand Brumen Award of 2022.
